Palais processes privacy-sensitive data or personal data in the web store. Palais takes your privacy seriously and processes and uses information about you in a careful and secure manner, while complying with the requirements of the privacy legislation. That means among other things that:

1. Who is Palais?
Palais is a webshop where you can order interior and lifestyle products. Palais is a label of House of Moxie B.V. (hereafter: House of Moxie). House of Moxie is responsible for the data processing. In this privacy statement we explain which personal data House of Moxie collects and uses and for what purpose. We have done our best to write this privacy statement as understandable as possible and recommend that you read it carefully.

2. What information is collected and processed by Palais?
When using our webshop, we obtain certain information from you.
That may be personal data. We only store and use the personal data that is directly provided by you in the context of the service you have requested, or of which it is clear that it is provided to us for processing.
The data (texts and images) that you add to your card designs are and remain yours. We will not use this information unless we have your explicit permission.
We process the following data for the purposes stated in this privacy statement:
- NAW details
- Phone number
- Transaction history
- IP address
- Information about your computer (such as which browser and which operating system you use)
- Duration and time of the visit to our website
- Click behavior
3. For what purposes will Palais use information about you?
Palais will use information about you for the following purposes:
- To enable your use of Palais;
- To recommend products based on your orders and interests;
- To make you personal offers that may be of interest to you;
- To prepare anonymous statistical data;
- To secure, adjust and improve Palais;
- To provide information about you to third parties and/or to give third parties access to information about you, if you have given permission for this or on the basis of laws and/or regulations.
We specifically process your personal data in these ways, for the following purposes:
- a) Register for an account
For certain functionalities of our webshop (such as viewing previous orders and storing address details of recipients) you must first register. By registering you create an account.
After registration, we will store the personal data you have provided via the email address you have entered (also your username). We keep this information so that you do not have to enter it every time and so that we can contact you in the context of the execution of the agreement.
We keep the data as long as you are an active customer with us. If you have not logged in to your account for 7 years, we will delete all your data. In addition, you can request to have your data deleted in your account at any time. You can email this request to email@example.com. We are working on a deletion option within the account environment so that you can also submit a deletion request via your account.
We will not provide the email address associated with you during registration to third parties, unless this is necessary in the context of the execution of the agreement that you conclude with us or if this is required by law. In case of suspected fraud or abuse of our web shop, we can hand over personal data to the competent authorities.
If you want to place an order without creating an account, you can also order as a guest. In that case we will process your name and address details and email address.
If you choose to register with your Facebook account, Palais will receive from Facebook (with your permission) your email address, first and last name and gender.
- b) order processing
When you place an order with us, we use your personal data to process it. If necessary for the execution of the agreement, we can also provide your personal data to third parties, such as a postal company. Without your explicit permission, Palais and House of Moxie will not provide your personal data to third parties for direct marketing purposes (for example for sending offers).
We are legally obliged to keep the data related to your order for 7 years.
- c) Analysis
When you visit Palais we collect, if you give permission, certain information about you through cookies. We do this, among other things, to increase the user-friendliness of our website and to perform analyzes for reporting purposes.

- d) Marketing
In addition to the information on our website, we can also inform you about our new products and services:

We provide an email newsletter to inform customers and interested parties (about once a month) about our products and services. In addition, you can receive emails with personalized offers based on your purchases in our web store.
We will only send you promotional emails with your permission. Do you prefer not to receive promotional emails anymore? You can unsubscribe via the link in the email or via customer service.
If you have subscribed to the newsletter or have given permission to receive personalized emails, we will keep that permission for 5 years. Even if you decide that you no longer wish to receive the emails, we will retain the withdrawal of your request.
We use ActiveCampaign, which is located in the United States, to process your data for sending promotional emails. ActiveCampaign is affiliated with the EU-US Privacy Shield-programma, demonstrating that they have an adequate level of data protection. - f) Customer service
We offer via our webshop the possibility to ask questions via a contact form, where you are asked to fill in various details to deal with your question. The data you send us will be kept for as long as the nature of the form or the content of your email requires for its complete answering and processing.
If you contact our customer service staff by telephone or email because you have questions or complaints about our services, we will store your contact details and your question or complaint. The information collected in this way is used for answering the relevant questions, handling complaints and for general statistics to improve our services.
- g) Competitions and promotions
If you participate in a promotion or competition, we will ask for your name, address and/or email address. We need these to be able to carry out the promotion and to announce and inform the prize winner(s).
We collect this information with your permission. In the conditions of the relevant competition or promotion you can find out exactly what your data is used for and how long we keep it.
- h) Customer surveys
To improve our services, we can use your data (email address and/or telephone number) to invite you for a no-obligation customer or market survey. In this way you help us to adapt our services and products to your wishes and expectations.
You decide whether you want to participate in customer- or market research. How long your data is linked to the results of the customer- or market research is stored, differs per research. We will delete all data that can be traced back to you as soon as the investigation has been completed.
- i) Resellers
We also store contact details for our business customers and partners. If it is personal data, we treat this data just like that of our other customers. If you become a Palais reseller, your name and address details will be stored and the Chamber of Commerce number will be checked.
4. How does Palais protect your personal information?
Palais attaches great importance to good security of your data and takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access and against any (other) form of unlawful processing.
5. View, change, correct or delete your data
For questions about our privacy statement, you can contact us any time. You can also send us a request to view, change or delete your data.
You can also submit a request to request a data export for data that we use with your permission, or indicate that you want us to limit the processing of personal data. In order to prevent abuse, we can ask you to adequately identify yourself. When it comes to access to personal data linked to a cookie, you must send a copy of the cookie in question. You can find this in the settings of your browser.
If the data is incorrect, you can request us to change the data or have it removed.
6. Retention periods
Personal data is kept for the purposes described above (where possible anonymized) for as long as necessary to process orders, including warranty. The data will then be deleted, unless there is a legal obligation that requires longer storage (such as the seven-year tax retention obligation for payment data or the five-year proof obligation for email opt-ins).
7. Provision to third parties
Without your explicit permission, Palais will not provide your personal data to third parties for direct marketing purposes (for example for sending offers).
Palais may provide your data to third parties insofar as you have given your permission for this with regard to a certain third party and/or insofar as this data cannot be traced back to you personally (such as automatically generated information).
Palais may provide your information to third parties if we are obliged to do so on the basis of laws and/or regulations, if we are forced to do so as a result of a lawsuit and/or if we consider it necessary to protect our own rights.
We can give you information to our partners who are involved in the execution of the agreement, such as a postal company.
Social media buttons are included in our webshop. With this, the administrators of these services collect your personal data.
This privacy statement does not apply to third-party websites that are linked to our webshop by means of links. We cannot guarantee that these third parties handle your personal data in a reliable or secure manner. We recommend that you read the privacy statements of these websites before using these websites.
8. Data transfer to countries outside the EU
Your (personal) data may be transferred (to servers of) Palais affiliated companies in the United States or other countries outside of Europe, where privacy protection regulations may not provide the same protection as in the European Union. You hereby agree, to the extent necessary, that your (personal) data will be transferred to the United States or other countries outside Europe. Wherever Palais stores the information, it will ensure that this storage is always in accordance with the law.
9. Complaints procedure
Of course we are gladly to help you if you have complaints about the processing of your (personal) data. Pursuant to privacy legislation, you also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority against these processing of personal data. You can contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
Can this privacy statement be changed?
We have the right to make changes to this privacy statement. We recommend that you consult this privacy statement regularly so that you are aware of these changes.
